Implement and Troubleshoot
Dealing with big organization requires a lot of meetings and also many people. So far, 2 meetings were held which I have attended. Recently the company just appointed a senior project manager, so my job is to assist him in dealing with all the paperwork beside concurrently communicating with the technical part. During the last project meeting with all of project teams, it is clearly noted that Facilities Management System would be a huge part for the entire system. Before this, it has never been thought of that way. So it proved that Facility Management has a very valuable perspective in an organization.
We are in the early stages to rectify Space Management and the codes that are going to be used. The missing part would just be standard coding that other ‘FM’ers are using. Still, we need to comply with what the end user has came out before. The end user was practically waiting for the system to be implemented. Higher management kept on holding them back. They got tired of waiting so they went on their own. They’ve develop quite a number of systems to assist their daily routine. Hopefully, with the implementation that is going to be done, it would compliment the existing system and help for future expansion.
In another seperate occasion, one of our client, a very well known corporation has recently called us up for some technical support. Eventhough we have a shortage of personnel, we sent one of our technical guy to see what is wrong with their system. Apparently, ARCHIBUS/FM Facil-o-tor 300 that they were using wasn’t configured correctly. The IT department had tried numerous attempt to connect the license file by scripting. The manual has stated of just copying the license file into the specific folder so it never should have been that way. However, if things go wrong, there are millions of ways it could go wrong. The problem still continues, does anyone know how to solve this problem?
