Facility Management System Update
During the past 8 weeks I haven’t blogged, there were 6 meetings that were held. 2 of them were between the vendors, and 4 meetings with the end user. Supposedly, there were more meetings but the holiday intervened it. Since the end user is a big public organization, the end user themselves are pushing so that the money that they are going to spend it worth their effort and investment. So far, the project is still under progress and haven’t even touch the implementation plan yet. This is because of the higher management is delaying on a few more issues. This is considered normal in a big organization such as the end-user. However, they want to change the current situation so that effective decision making could take place for better efficiency in the future.
The end-user at the current phase of implementation would only take 3 modules that ARCHIBUS/FM software has to offer. The 3 modules are:
1. Building and Operation Management
2. Space Management
3. Overlay for AutoCAD with Design Management
There are still 9 more modules that is not included yet. The end user want it all but it doesn’t seem like a rational thing to implement a full blown system as budget constraint is an issue here.
Despite of having huge workload at the moment, I also managed to redesign and uploaded a few articles at SIMEK Official website. The article that I’ve selected is very informative, I’ll list down the title for you:
- Understanding the Strategic Role of Facilities Management
- Space Standards: Some Recent Lessons (Part 1)
- Tugasan Pengurusan Fasiliti (Malay)
I’ll be updating this blog again from time to time. Happy working!
